THE ART OF SOUL EXHIBITION

- IMPIETY HOUR

EUPHORIA IN RHYTHM

Using in-the-moment live-event photography, curated into visceral, loud, grungy, multi-exposure posters. Kian zeroes in on the “emotion” stemming from the soul, within each subject’s dying passions and brings that sound to a surface.

Timeless imperfection.

From the stage, to thousands watching and further, Kian captures what life is all about and why we should forever chase our dreams. Vulnerability, intimacy, frustration, pure joy, the looks on each of your faces coming straight from the heart. Revel in between the lines of photography and other worlds. You never know, maybe your favourites have been shotbykian.

ART OF SOUL EXHIBITION

An incredible exhibition from the 6-8th May 2026 put together by 14 amazing Photographers at MMU.

We were tasked with putting on our own exhibition, funding it ourselves, curating a theme we could all work on and eventually displaying our work for the public. After months of stress, conversations, fundraising events and more, we held our exhibition as one of our proudest moments for us all.

We all investigate and showcase what we feel can define a soul in our own ways.

FIND THE GREEN

- ACTION FOR CONSERVATION

“Find The Green” is a collaborative project I worked on in late 2025 with fellow photographers, Sammie Antill and Ophelia Sawyer. It was a brief set by Action For Conservation, which “focuses on people aged 12-24 from diverse backgrounds across the UK in nature conservation and restoration”. Our idea was that we wanted to know how easily accessible it was for children and adults in Manchester to enjoy their time at a park. What was in each park? Is it newly refurbished? Does it feel safe? These are the sort of questions we asked ourselves at the beginning and aimed to capture in our shoots. We took photos around local Manchester parks and Sammie put together an incredible digital map to be displayed in the SODA MMU Building showcasing our work.

Ignorance Isn’t So Bliss

- Hubbub and Virgin Media O2

“Ignorance Isn’t So Bliss” is a piece that I created within a collaborative project with Sammie Antill. Hubbub and Virgin Media O2 challenged us with creating imagery that raises awareness of the dangers of E-Waste for #TimeAfterTime
